About me

Ru Mehta is a self-taught abstract artist based in Windsor. Her work focuses on exploring the structures and luminosity of crystals, using abstraction to draw out their depth and character. She also explores the female form within fluid, nature-inspired environments, frequently incorporating water as a grounding element. Ru first began painting during the initial lockdown, finding in it a way to process the uncertainty of that period. What started as a personal anchor gradually became a practice centred on attention, detail, and reconnecting with the natural world.

Alongside painting, Ru worked in advertising until June of this year, when she chose to step away and commit fully to her artistic practice. In October 2024, she exhibited as part of a group show at the Brick Lane Gallery and is currently developing new pieces for 2026.
